Erie County General Authority (ECGA)
Mission
The Erie County General Authority (ECGA) is a financing instrument of Erie County Government which grew out of a need to undertake financing for qualified 501(c)3 charities. The main purpose of the ECGA is to undertake projects permitted by the Municipality Authorities Act of 1945 for use by charitable organizations. The Authority is therefore designed to finance working capital and acquire, construct, improve, own, maintain, and lease various project outlined by this municipal law. The Authority can issue up to a total of $10 million per year of bank-eligible, tax-exempt financing for eligible projects for 501(c)3 organizations.
